Standing at this open door
I make my way inside.
With nothing left to fear in here
and nowhere left to hide.
I search and see you standing there
where everything feels fine.
And our eyes meet at eternity
the moment you are mine.
While life goes on in the world outside
they're trying to see in.
And wondering not "How will it end?"
but rather "How will it begin?"
And as you take my outstretched hand
some ancient, sacred stars align
and they drift toward divinity
the moment you are mine.
Soon souls begin their journey joined
and step out to the street
where winter snow is falling fast
but hand in hand there's heat.
'Tis a warmth brought forth from deep within
undeniable in its design.
Like a destined dream of life and love
this moment you are mine.
Across the corner coffee shop
sits a lonely flower stand.
There's a blood-red rose so right and real.
I place it in your hand.
And then upon your lips the kiss
that you have missed for all of time.
A fateful feeling of forever
in this moment you are mine.
At the intersection 'fore us
there's no destination clear.
Just the journey moving forward
and the joy of being near.
Talking far into the future
with the present now defined.
You will never be alone again
from the moment you are mine.
